Mudra’ is an acronym of the English word ‘posture’ or seal and the word ‘Vigyan’ purports science. Therefore, the phrase ‘Mudra Vigyan’ connotes the science of acquiring specific posture by using five fingers which symbolize five elements that are named as fire, wind, ether, earth and water for rectifying any bodily disorder, rejuvenating vigor and awaken the power or strength of inactive precepts internally but effectively.
In varied dance forms, religious rituals and yoga, ‘Mudra Vigyan’ denotes the mute way of conveying ideas, notions, heartily expressions and internal feelings through influential and impactful external finger postures that expresses that ‘silence has the sharpness of sword and the impact of venom along with the relief as of medicine’. ‘Mudra’ have the caliber of lavishing great powers and psychic abilities along with spiritual gains which are known as ‘siddhis’.
Scientifically, ‘Mudra Vigyan’ has tendency to bring physical gain and healing for which having proper and adequate knowledge of it and its usage are must. Otherwise, extreme effects may be exhibited to the wrong practitioners. As ‘education can never be gotten without any teacher’ likewise an expertise instructor should be approached for learning ‘Mudra Vigyan’.
The scientific reasons for using ‘Mudra Vigyan’ are as follows:
Every finger tip discharges the concentration of free electrons through concentrated nerve root endings which are connected to them. The touching of every finger tip to palm or other part of the body channelizes those electrons freely into the touched body organ. Consequently, the floating power packed electrons into the nerves to brain stimulates various chakras. Hence, cure and eradicate many types of diseases from the body.
‘Mudras’ apply tension on specific nerves or neural-circuits for maintaining equilibrium of five elements (called fire, wind, ether, earth and water )since the non-equilibrium of these five elements is the root cause of suffering from various diseases. It is also known as ‘Neural Science’ because healing is done through exerting pressure on nerves.
The pressure put on nerves is automatic and does not need any external effort or aid of needles or seeds as that has been seen in ‘Acupressure therapy’.
‘Mudra Vigyan’ works on the principles of ‘Ayurveda’ which confirms the causes of any disease are Vata (Wind), Pitta (bile) and Kapha (phlegm) in the body and various ‘Mudras’ control ten types of wind surrounding nerves. These winds are grouped into primary (Pran vayu, Apan vayu, Vyan vayu, Udan vayu and Saman Vayu)
